7. Approaching God Through Christianity

7. Approaching God Through Christianity

After exploring testimonies about the afterlife, a deep conviction emerged: it is not enough to know that there is “something” after death. These accounts—and especially the teachings they convey, such as drawing closer to God, learning to love, developing our spiritual dimension, and seeking to do His will—led me to reflect on how to embody them concretely in my own life.

Having grown up in a practicing Christian family, my childhood was deeply shaped by faith: Sundays at church, prayers before meals, and evening prayers were part of our daily routine. It therefore felt natural for me to rediscover the Christian tradition as a possible path to deepen my relationship with God and continue my spiritual growth.

However, in order to build a faith that is solid, coherent, and deeply grounded, I chose to proceed step by step, adopting an approach that is both spiritual and rational:

  1. Is the version of the Bible we have today faithful to what the disciples wrote?
  2. How was the New Testament canon formed?
  3. Is the testimony of the disciples reliable?
  4. Reading the New Testament: a sometimes challenging style
  5. Did Jesus really exist?
  6. Did Jesus really died on the cross?
  7. Did Jesus truly rise from the dead?
  8. What evidence supports the human nature of Jesus?
  9. What evidence supports his divine nature?
  10. How can Jesus be both God and man? The concept of Incarnation
  11. Did Jesus die for my sins?
  12. The message of Jesus according to the Gospels
  13. The teaching of Paul
